The Democratic Socialist Paradigm of Kathie Glass

It is no secret that I am a Gandhian in the sense that I worship God as Truth Only, and I have no real problem with collectivism in a stateless environment, as is shown in the libertarian socialism of Gandhiji, my Internet co-hort Noam Chomsky, etc.  I am not a libertarian socialist, which, in my studies, requires a stateless society in order to exist, by the way.  I am a Tolstoyan ("swear not"--give no allegiance to Caesar/ government by oath or affirmation), Gandhian (One who worships God as Truth Only), Rothbardian (Mises.org/ anarco-capitalist, Ron Paul) Libertarian (You do it your way, I'll do it mine).

The demarkation line that concerns me is that any attempt at libertarian socialism within the state conception of life (for a local public school, for example) becomes democratic socialism (Mandela. King), and this represents the violence of the state, if utilized at any level.  There is no ultimate local control under the state conception of life, and I see no evidence of Kathie Glass endorsing a stateless society.

Therefore, I am forced to conclude she is operating under the false hope of developing a libertarian socialist paradigm in her free public school proposal, while in reality endorsing the violence of democratic socialism.  Remember, Marxism is insidious.  If you let it in the door, it will grow until it chokes out everything in the greenhouse.  Government indoctrination day camps for children (10th Plank of "The Communist Manifesto") is not benign.

Kathie Glass: "Ants"

I suppose if I were from Georgia, where I understand Kathie Glass is from, racism against latinos would be a norm, so her use of the term,"ants," to describe latinos crossing the border between Texas and Mexico is at least understood, while not appreciated in a politician. 

The problem from my end is that I was born here in Texas in 1966.  The men who built fence on my father's farm were Mexican and taught my father Spanish, the Spanish I used to hear my father sing along too on the car radio when I was a little boy.  My sister has a mother who is an "ant," by Kathie Glass standards.  A house full of "ants" are sleeping about 20 yards from me right now, as I write this:  my neighbors.  Down the street are more houses full of "ants."  I call them my friends.  I got my hair cut by an "ant" today next door to the local latino shopping center where I like to buy my food.

In early 2001, I moved to El Paso to see if I could make a go of it on 20 acres of sand I bought a few years before.  The job I got was as a marketing manager for an alfalfa and pecan farm on the Rio Grande River.  It was like a old Western novel to live those months there.  You could throw a rock from the edge of the farm and hit a bus stop on the Mexican side of the river.  The men who worked along side me were very hurt at the least white reference to their presumed inferiority, so I learned to be very careful not to offend, as it has never been my nature to do such a thing to anyone on racial lines.  I learned to eat the melon under the giant cottonwood trees there on the river when they offered in order to show that I was not too good to eat with them.  After months, I was eating in their homes, on occasion.  And they live a good life there, let me tell you.

What we need in Texas is not more Kathie Glass politicians from Georgia telling us who our family members should be or when a river should be crossed.  People down on the Mexican border have been crossing that river for 500 years with no problem.  That presumed problem is a government created problem.  Hell, the people we pissed of in the Middle East don't even come at us through Mexico anyway;  they come through their established communities in Detroit and Ontario, up North.  And if we would give them a fair shake, we wouldn't even have them pissed at us.

Kathie Glass has a long way to go to be ready to lead anything in Texas, especially a political party that gains for some odd reason the power to push people around and even kill them in the name of the state. Have you ever heard of something so ridiculous as a racist libertarian?

Kevin Pick Why not quote Kathie Glass in your article? Here is what she said:

“That’s not the way for Texas," she said. "We should secure our border at the border. The Arizona-style interrogation, after people have become integrated in the community, is like my ants in my pantry, and I want to remove them one at a time and take them outside.”

I don't find that racist but I do find your article disingenuous. Could you please at least quote her, in the name of honesty and integrity?

Open Borders: Mises Institute v. Kathie Glass

It is my purpose to promote a coherent presentation of libertarianism via the library.  As such, I am forced to take a position opposed to that of Kathie Glass, a candidate running for Texas Governor under the Libertarian Party brand.  Dangers are everywhere for a political party that separates from its central goals and philosophy, as we saw in early 20th Century Germany, for example.  We must hold true to who we are, or we will be nothing separate from the others.

I turn your attention to page 195 of "Labor Economics From A Free Market Perspective:  Employing the Unemployable," by Walter Block, a publication I purchased days ago for $29 from the Mises Book Store.  "[M]erely by appearing at our shores, particularly at the invitation of a citizen and property owner, cannot be said by that fact alone to have initiated violence against an innocent person."

Block goes into anarco-capitialsm, as the lengthy book portion goes on into more detail, so there is no pro-border position for Glass to assume.

No disrespect to Kathie Glass, but her opposition to foreigners getting access to the 10th plank of "The Communist Manifesto," (government indoctrination day camps for children/ so-called, "free public schools") represents a redirect away from libertarianism more associated with the national socialism of the Republican Party.  The problem is that government is involved in the educational process at all, per Murray N. Rothbard's "For a New Liberty:  The Libertarian Manifesto."  Libertarians oppose the 10th plank altogether, and then border securement logically has no relationship to education.

Borders are not walls that keep the freedom in;  rather, they are walls that keep the freedom moot.  And the racism intrinsic to the Glass position is not libertarianism in any context.

The Forces of Light vs. The Forces of Darkness

When I bagan to challenge Mrs. Kathie Glass' supportive position on the 10th plank of "The Communist Manifesto" several months ago, many thought I was a clown, as the Libertarian Party is not known as a serious contender, so it must be that I was just a humorous prank at her cost.  But what is at stake between the Glass duo and myself is the soul of libertarianism, whether freedom will be the freedom of Fidel Castro or the freedom of Greek definition -- elutheria:  without liability of obligation. 

This is not funny, for what Ron Paul spent his life defending is a fundamental opposition to ALL of Marxism, all of the planks.  My conflict with the Glass duo is a battle between light and darkness, between good and evil, between the violent coercion of the political classes and the non-violence of the people who just want to breath free once again.

If you support a candiate who supports a single plank of Marxist darkness, you help to drive a nail in the hopes of Ron Paul's dream for a brighter day.  Let us join in prayer that this evil empire that invades even the Libertarian Party will, by God's grace, fall away from our shores.
